Reports coming in that folks are arriving in San Antonio!

Father Roderick has been there for a couple of days, along with David Sweeney of the Catholic Family podcast. Catch Father’s exploits eating jalapeno peppers in today’s Daily Breakfast. David put him up to it, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Since that adventure, more of the SQPN family has arrived. Captain Jeff and Inge Loots (Taquoriaan) got there this morning, and Lisa Hendey joined them a little later. The latest report puts them all together having lunch along the river.

Recent Twitter and Plurk activity reveals that listeners Stephanie Weaks and Jeff Young might be wandering around trying to spot where all the action is!

It’s not too late–there’s still time to register and get together tomorrow night at the Meet-N-Greet hosted by The Catholic Company. Hot peppers optional.

Three days and a wake-up ’til the Meet-N-Greet!

Excitement is building for this year’s Catholic New Media Celebration with a very special kick-off event on Friday night. The Catholic Company, on-line supplier of Catholic goods from books to jewelry, will be hosting the Celebration’s Meet-N-Greet event at the Drury Hotel.

Join The Catholic Company in welcoming all the guests, participants, and podcasters and New Media gurus as we make new friends, form new alliances, and generally have a great time enjoying hors d’oeuvres, good conversation, and an opportunity to participate in their new initiative, Incredible Priests Incredible Stories.

Meet-N-Greet Friday Night

Drury Inn Lobby

I’m sure when you get into San Anton’, you’ll want to kick your boots off and rest a bit. Join us for a SQPN Meet-N-Greet – Texas style, at the 2nd floor mezzanine of the Drury Inn Lobby, from 5pm until whenever. Most of the SQPN family will be in attendance. I’m sure they’ll be walking around with microphones and I wouldn’t rule out a camera or two uStreaming the whole thing.

The hotel offers free alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and light snacky-poos from 5pm until 7pm. Then the real celebration begins! O’Neills, a local caterer, will have a full cash bar and hors d’oeuvres exclusively for SQPNers. We will also have an “early” registration table so you can get your badge, program and t-shirt and avoid the morning rush, leaving you more time to rub elbows with Paul Camarata.

We will also have shuttle tickets at the meet-n-greet. Tickets are 5 bucks and cover your transportation to and from the venue.

Just like Saint Paul who traveled the world to tell the nations about Jesus, Catholic new media evangelists reach out to a worldwide audience with the message of the Gospel. SQPN Meet and Greet

The evening before the Catholic New Media Celebration, SQPN will organize a festive meet and greet in downtown San Antonio for everyone. It will be a great occasion to hang out with friends, bloggers and podcasters. Whether you are a long time SQPN fan, or completely new to the world of catholic new media, this is the place to be to warm up for the Catholic New Media Celebration and to have a wonderful evening!

This Year’s Location: the UIW Skyroom

The second annual Catholic New Media Celebration will take place at the magnificent Sky Room of the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX. It’s a great location that is easy to reach. There is a big central space for keynotes and presentations, while other rooms are available for the various tracks. The place has great food, and has special areas where you can meet other people and check out the various catholic organizations that will join us for the CNMC.

The ICC is located at the corner of Hildebrand and Hwy 281, the most convenient intersection in San Antonio, three minutes from the San Antonio International Airport and five minutes from San Antonio’s famous River Walk. The UIW Sky Room has free on-site parking for its visitors and guests.
